Test Plan Detailed View – TestFirst

This article is applicable to both TestFirst Desktop App and TestFirst Web App.

In order to open detailed view for a test plan, click on the test plan you want to view. The detailed view of the test plan will appear.

The columns in the detailed view are as follows:

Column

Description

Name

The tree view of the test cases included in the test plan.

The hierarchy is the same as it is in the test case library at the time of the test plan creation or editing and is presented as follows:

Test project

Test suite

Test section

Test subsection

Test (an instance of a test case)

Test result (the result of a test execution with TEM)

Quick test result

Test node is always at the same node level as the respective test case in the test case library at the time of the test plan creation.

Since a test case can be placed under any node, therefore, a test (the instance of the test case) can also appear under any node.

A unique ID of the test, generated automatically

Status

The current status of testing.

For nodes above test, status is represented by a progress bar similar to that in the test plan library. The status bar is color coded where colors stand for:

Green - Passed
Red - Failed
Yellow - Retest
Blue - Incomplete
Dark grey - Blocked
Light grey - Untested

Hover or click on the status bar to see a tooltip with a pie chart of the statuses and a legend with all the necessary information and precise values of every status share.

For test and test result, status can be one of:

Passed
Failed
Retest
Incomplete
Blocked
Untested

The test status is equal to the status of the latest test result

Assigned To

Current assignee’s first and last name (only applicable to test node)

Tested By

The tester’s first and last name (only applicable to test result)
