Smart hovering is a TEM feature that changes the window appearance on focus change.
Default Smart Hovering Settings
By default, TEM is set to always stay on top of all other applications and change opacity automatically when the cursor moves to or from it. When the cursor is on TEM window, the opacity is set to maximum (94 by default). When the cursor moves away from the TEM window, the opacity changes to its minimum value (42 by default).
Customize Smart Hovering
In order to customize how smart hovering works, click on the Settings icon in the title bar. Settings window will be opened. Here you can customize:
- TEM position - if checked, keeps TEM on top of other applications, regardless of the active application. On by default.
- TEM opacity settings
- Change opacity:
- Automatic (default) - the opacity will change automatically triggered by the event specified in the TEM Mode of Focus setting.
- Manual (not recommended for productivity reasons) - the opacity can be changed by the user in TEM itself.
When opacity is set to manual, all the other opacity settings and mode of focus become unavailable. Once this setting is saved, an opacity slider will appear in the top part of TEM, set to 100% by default.
- Minimum Opacity - the opacity percentage TEM window is set to when unfocused.
- Maximum Opacity - the opacity percentage TEM window is set to when focused.
- Change opacity:
- TEM mode of focus - allows you to configure the event on which the TEM’s opacity changes:
- Cursor moves to/from TEM (default) - the opacity changes to minimum when you move the cursor away from TEM and back to maximum when you return the cursor to TEM.
- Active application changes - when active window changes from TEM to another application (e.g., if you open another application, or click on it).
If you want to save your settings, click on SAVE CHANGES button. “Changes saved!” message will appear.
