You can take automatic and manual screenshots using TEM on one or multiple displays.
There are several ways to take screenshots:
- Automatic screenshots. By default, an automatic screenshot is taken when the user sets a test status by clicking on PASS, FAIL or BLOCK buttons and there are no screenshots attached to the step yet. This action will open Annotation Module (AM) window.
The automatic screenshot feature can be disabled in the settings. - Manual screenshots. You can take up to 20 screenshots per step by clicking on the Camera icon.
- Delayed screenshots. You can take delayed screenshots by right-clicking on the Camera icon and picking the delay in seconds. After clicking on one of the delay options, TEM window will be hidden and a countdown will be displayed in the corner of the screen. When the timer reaches 0, a screenshot will be taken automatically. This feature is especially useful when you need to take a screenshot while hovering or long pressing on a UI element.
Screenshot Settings
In order to access screenshot settings, click on the Settings icon in the title bar of TEM window and pick Screenshot option in the dropdown in the top part of the Settings window. You can customize the following settings:
- Automatic screenshot. On by default. When checked, it takes a screenshot of your current screen contents when you set a status to the step by clicking on PASS, FAIL or BLOCK and there are no screenshots attached to the step. Unchecking this checkbox will disable this, which is a good option for light-weight testing.
- Display settings. Here you can select which display TEM will take screenshots of. By default, All Displays option is selected. You can change it to any one display. In order to identify the sequential number of the display, click Identify button. The respective numbers will appear in the center of each display you are connected to.
Display settings are only visible if you have more than one display connected. |
Display numbering is independent from Windows settings and might not match it. It is recommended to use the Identify button in TEM settings to correctly identify the display number. |
If you want to save your settings, click the SAVE CHANGES button. “Changes saved!” message will appear.
