The user has admin rights for your Jira instance. |
In order to view TestFirst test cases in Jira, you will need to install and configure the TestFirst app in Jira. All the actions described here need to only be done once, and only by a Jira admin of your organization.
In order to install and configure the app, follow the steps below:
- Open this page in browser.
- Click Get app button. An Install ‘TestFirst‘ by FirstCall QA popup will be displayed.
- Select the site you want to install TestFirst app on and click Install. TestFirst app will be installed to the selected Jira instance.
After the app is installed to your Jira instance, you will need to configure it by following the steps below:
- Click on Apps in your Jira instance.
- Find TestFirst app and click on it. "For this app to display, you need to allow the app to access Atlassian products on your behalf." warning will be displayed. Click on Allow access. A new browser tab with permission details will be opened.
- Review the permission details and click Accept. The tab will close. A welcome page will load in the TestFirst app tab.
- In the welcome page, you will see the links to the help center articles and to the TestFirst Admin panel. In order to continue the configuration, click on the link for Admin panel. TestFirst Admin page will open.
- In the TestFirst Admin page, enter the credentials of the TestFirst user you created for the integration. Click Login. The user will be logged in with the credentials provided and a message informing you of that will be displayed. The integration in Jira will become active, and you will be able to see the test cases linked to the Jira issues in the issue page. If you want to log out later, click the Logout button.
We strongly recommend that you create separate TestFirst credentials for Jira integration. Using an existing user credentials will result in unstable connection with the TestFirst server both on Jira integration side and on the user's side. In order to create a user, just sign up for one here. After signing up, make sure to ask your Administrator or Owner to invite this user to your organization. |
Google authentication is not supported in the Jira app. If the user you are trying to log in with was signed up using Google authentication, you will need to use password reset in order to set up the password for the account. |
If the user you are trying to log in with is a member of several organizations, an additional page with the dropdown for organization selection will be displayed after you click Login. Select the organization you want to log in with and click the Proceed button. |
