Currently, this feature is only available in the TestFirst Desktop App. |
The custom fields feature allows you to create your own fields of various types and associate them with a target object (currently, only a test case can be selected as a target object).
A target object is the entity type (e.g., test case, test, etc.) to which the custom field will be applied. Thus, if you select test case as the target object for a custom field, the custom field will appear in the UI when you create, view or edit a test case. |
You can set default and recommended values for custom fields, rearrange them as you like and make them active or not active.
In order to go to the Custom Fields page, click on Customizations in the left menu panel. Custom Fields page will be displayed.
The list of custom fields is represented by a table with the following columns:
Column | Description |
System name | The unique system name of the custom field, can be used for test case export |
Description | The description of the custom field |
Target object | The object for which the custom field is available (currently, can only be a test case) |
# | The sequential number of the field representing the order in which the custom fields will appear in the UI. E.g., the custom field with #1 will be the first in the list, etc. |
Type | The type of the custom field |
Default value | The value that will automatically be assigned to the field in all the test cases |
Is mandatory | A flag that defines whether the field is mandatory. If the checkbox is checked, the custom field object (e.g., test case) will require this field to be filled. |
Is active | A flag that defines whether the custom field is currently in use. If the checkbox is checked, the custom field will be available in the UI. |
