In order to work in TestFirst as a team, the organization owner or a user with Admin role can invite users to the organization. For those users to be able to use TestFirst Automate, you will also need to grant them the necessary permissions by assigning them a specific role.
Invite Users to your Organization
In order to do invite a user:
- Click on the Administration item in the left menu panel.
- Click on the Users sub-item under Administration. Users page will be displayed.
- Click the INVITE USER button. Invite User dialog will be displayed.
- Enter the user's email and click INVITE. The user will appear in the Invited Users section of the page.
If the invited user hasn't accepted the invitation, you can cancel it by clicking the CANCEL button in the ACTIONS column. |
Grant Users Automation Permissions
In order for the users to be able to use TestFirst Automate to its full extent, you will need to grant them permissions. In order to do that, first, you will need to assign a role to the user. You can pick the role accordingly from the default roles existing in TestFirst, or create a custom role for automation-related purposes.
In order to assign a role:
- Click the Administration item in the left menu panel. The menu will expand and display Users item.
- Click Users. Users page will be displayed.
- Click EDIT in the ACTIONS column for the user you want to assign the role to. Edit User dialog will be displayed. The dialog is divided into two parts: Available Roles and Assigned Roles.
- Click on the role you want to assign to the user in the Available Roles list. Double click the role or click the > button to move the role to Assigned Roles list. Click SAVE if you want to save the changes. Click CANCEL to discard the changes.

If you grant a user any default role other than Admin, but you want them to work on automation-related tasks, you will need to edit the default role and add the respective permissions to the role. Below you will find the list of automation-related permissions:
