The Jira integration in TestFirst for your organization is configured. The user is authenticated in the Jira integration. The TestFirst Jira app is installed in your Jira instance. |
Two entity types in TestFirst can be linked to Jira issues: a test case, and a test result with a Failed status.
Link a Test Case to a Jira Issue
In order to link a test case to a Jira issue, simply add the URL of the Jira issue to the Reference field when creating or editing a test case.
Once the test case is saved, you will be able to see the test case in the TestFirst Test Cases panel of the TestFirst Jira app, as well as see the URL of the Jira issue in the Reference field when viewing a test case in TestFirst.
Link a Test Result with a Failed Status to a Jira Issue
A failing test result can be linked to a Jira issue when finishing a test run. You can either create a new Jira issue or link the test result to an existing Jira issue.
Once you click SUBMIT TEST RESULT in the annotation module's finished test modal, an Associate Test Result with Issue modal will be displayed. The Summary and Details fields will be auto-populated with the Summary and Failure details you provided when failing the test step. You can edit these fields if you want to enter more details to be reflected in the Jira issue.
Create a New Jira Issue Linked to a Test Result
In order to create a new Jira issue, simply click SUBMIT in the Associate Test Result with Issue modal. A TEST RESULT SUBMITTED modal will be displayed, with the link to the newly created issue at the bottom of the modal.
The created issue will be of the same issue type you entered when configuring the project. |
Link a Test Result to an Existing Jira Issue
In order to link the test result to an existing Jira issue, in the Link to existing issue field in the Associate Test Result with Issue modal, start typing the Jira issue key. A dropdown will appear with a list of Jira issues matching the key you're entering. Click on the issue you would like to link your test result with. Once the Link to existing issue field is populated, click SUBMIT. A TEST RESULT SUBMITTED modal will be displayed, with the link to the issue you linked the test result to.
Linking a test result to an existing Jira issue will add a comment with the test result details to the linked Jira issue.
