You can record videos of your screen using the Test Execution Module. The available recording duration depends on your pricing plan.
In order to start a screen recording, click the Screen recording icon (video camera). The recording will start indicated by a Stop recording icon and the available recording duration remaining. You can pause the recording by clicking the Pause recording icon and resume it by clicking the Resume icon.
Upon clicking the Stop recording icon, the Save Recording dialog will be displayed. In the dialog, you can:
- review the recorded video using the built-in video player
- download the video by clicking the DOWNLOAD button
- save the video by clicking the SAVE button. The video will be attached to the test result. You can further review it in the View Test Summary dialog.
- cancel the recording by clicking the CANCEL button.
Clicking CANCEL in the Save Recording dialog will close the dialog and will NOT save the recording. This action is irreversible, and a canceled video cannot be recovered. |
Screen Recording Settings
You can customize the behavior of the screen recording feature by clicking Settings in the Test Execution Module and picking Screen Recording from the dropdown. The available settings include:
- Preferences:
- Display a countdown timer (checked by default) - when checked, upon clicking Start recording, a countdown will be displayed, after which the recording will start.
- Highlight mouse clicks (unchecked by default) - when checked, each mouse click captured in the video will be highlighted.
- Exclude TEM window from the screen recording (unchecked by default) - when checked, hides the Test Execution Module window from the recording, providing the full view of the application under testing.
- Audio
- Record sound from a microphone or an inout audio device (unchecked by default) - when checked, captures the audio from the input selected device
- Record soung from an output sound device (unchecked by default) - when checked, captures the audio from the selected output device
